• Whiplash

  • This sudden movement of the neck is what results in whiplash, an injury which occurs when the tendons, ligaments and muscles of the neck are damaged/strained.

The most common symptoms of whiplash include pain and stiffness in the neck and lower back. It can also cause headaches, dizziness and blurred vision. These symptoms can begin to surface within a short time after the accident. Since it is rare for a person to escape an accident without some kind of injury, you should get checked even if you have no pains or visible injuries.

With this in mind, always visit a physiotherapist as soon as you can after the accident for a thorough check-up. If the physiotherapist suspects there could be a deeper problem, x-rays or MRIs may be recommended. Treatments include manipulation, massage, home exercises, acupuncture, TENS and spinal mobilisations.

If you have any issues of neck pain, don’t wait another day. Call us now and we will help you regain movement, reduce pain and prevent any on-going issues.
